                                WEDDINGS

Photographing weddings at Hanbury Manor is a great pleasure. The grounds are stunning, with lots of different spots for great wedding photos, including the iconic circular archway. The Garden Court is filled with beautiful natural light and feels light and airy - whatever the weather!

Getting Ready
       at Hanbury Manor

The rooms at Hanbury Manor are well appointed and bright, usually with large windows for lots of natural light, providing a beautiful space for you and your bridal party to get ready.

When you're getting ready, you'll want the best light. This is usually next to the windows, but hair and make-up professionals usually bring their own ring lights.

If you're planning to have a 'first look' in the room, this may take a little planning. There can often be quite a lot of people in the room if several bridesmaids or parents are getting made up, so there could also be quite a bit of clutter. A first look photo will always look better in a bright, clutter-free room, so please try and tidy up as you go. hiding away discarded clothing and empty food packaging and dirty dishes.

WHERE CAN YOU GET MARRIED?

Poles Hall

Poles Hall is the beautiful chapel of the original manor house with distinctive vaulted ceiling and minstrel's gallery and can hold up to 120 guests for your wedding ceremony.

Garden Court and Summer House

The Garden Court and Summer House at Hanbury Manor is a gorgeous option for your wedding ceremony flooded with natural light and it's own private garden. The glass roof and walls, exposed brickwork and impressive foliage really gives an illusion of being outdoors, indoors, for your ceremony - perfect whatever the weather!

CONFETTI

I usually try to do this not long after the ceremony, while everyone is still gathered, except in bad weather. Confetti isn't allowed inside the venue, so fingers crossed we get a break in the weather to try again later.

I organise guests into two lines as you walk down the middle, being showered with confetti. I also ask guests to save a handful for when you reach the end, so they can gather round you in a horseshoe shape for one last shot. As everyone is throwing at the same time it creates maximum impact!

Your Wedding Reception
              at Hanbury Manor

After the ceremony, there is usually a period 'free' time before the wedding breakfast is served. This is the perfect time to chat to your guests and enjoy a drink and perhaps some of Hanbury Manor's delicious canapes. This is also the perfect time to grab a few group shots and couple photos - if you want them!

Hanbury Manor is blessed with stunning grounds to enjoy in good weather. Serve your drinks and canapes outside and play games on the lawn. There are tables and chairs dotted around and some shady areas for guests.

GROUP PHOTOS

While I am mostly a documentary-style photographer - capturing candid moments as the day unfolds - you are likely to still want a few group shots and couple portraits. Most people choose to book me for my relaxed style, so I aim to get these more formal photos done as quickly and efficiently as possible as having lots of this type of shot alters the dynamic of the day as you'll be able to spend less time with your family and friends.

There are lots of lovely options for beautiful portrait photos at Hanbury Manor. I would suggest keeping the large group photos fairly near the reception building, rather than asking your guests to all trek miles to that perfect location.

We loved having Sarah photograph our wedding and capture the special moments, she made us feel super at ease and relaxed and worked with the weather to get some beautiful images that we will treasure for ever.
