The first year of a baby’s life goes by in the blink of an eye…. Those tiny fingers, chunky legs and heart-melting first smiles. It is so important to capture this fleeting time before it’s gone forever and suddenly they’re walking and you can’t remember them so small and perfect. It’s harder still to remember what it felt like to be pregnant and the excitement of the first little flutters and kicks.
Let me portray the excitement and anticipation of your new arrival and those precious early days as you adjust to the new family dynamic, focussing on the bond between you, your baby and any older siblings.
I offer a natural storytelling approach to my newborn sessions, taken in the comfort of your own home with all of the family included. After all, your home is where all of those special memories are made, so what better place to capture some new ones.

Sarah is such a kind and patient photographer. When organising the session Sarah was very understanding and flexible to ensure that she could meet our needs where ever possible. She listened to our requests to make the shoot personal.
Within Sarah’s timings and prices she factored in feeds and changes which completely took the pressure off. When my baby decided to stay awake for most of the shoot Sarah was very understanding and stayed while we settled him to get the perfect picture.
Sarah listened to our story and also offered her own. She gave me some great insight to some other mother and baby groups to join and places to get further support.
Thank you for capturing not only some beautiful images but his personality in them too.
Sarah has very recently been to my home to take some wonderful photos of my 5 week old daughter, myself and my husband. I couldn't be happier with how they turned out! Sarah was great at guiding us and having some awesome suggestions for poses. Sarah was also patient and very understanding when my baby inevitably kicked off. This is a great option if you have older kids, as they are able to play and explore.
And you can get some great family portraits too.

~ A relaxed 2 hour shoot, allowing plenty of time if baby needs feeding or settling.
~ At least 50 digital images, colour corrected and edited in my signature style.
~ Online gallery to view and download your images.

Hi! I’m Sarah, the creator behind Purple Kite Photography.
- As a mum of two, I know how important it is to capture those special moments, so you can relive them time and again as the memories fade.
- I began my photography journey when I had my first child, taking thousands of photos to try and preserve their perfect tininess forever. Pretty soon I was taking photos of my friends' children too, and it naturally evolved into a business. And I've never looked back!
- Since then, it has been my privilege to photograph families, events and special occasions as well as weddings. I feel so lucky to call this work!
- I hate having my own photo taken, so I totally get it when people say they feel awkward in front of the camera, but it is my job to put you at ease and get great results.
