FOCUS ON FUN - SIMPLE CHURCH CEREMONY AND RELAXED RECEPTION AT THE PRIORY, LITTLE WYMONDLEY

For Marie and Steve, the most important element of their wedding day was spending as much time as possible with family and friends, so they focussed on a relaxing and enjoyable day from start to finish.

Sarah Whyte, owner of Purple Kite Photography, sitting on a bridge in Hertford, Hertfordshire

Hi, I'm Sarah!

I create a calm and relaxed atmosphere for my clients, ensuring that they feel at ease and enjoy every moment of their day.

A chilled morning getting ready with 'Team Bride'

Marie, her family and bridesmaids spent a relaxed morning getting ready together at a gorgeous Airbnb not far from the church. The bucks fizz flowed while Lucy and Lucy were at work on hair and make up.

The Ceremony at St Ippolyts Church

Marie and Steve were married in St Ippolyts church. A beautiful, traditional church basking in the autumn sunshine on top of a hill in the small village of St Ippolyts, between Stevenage and Hitchin, before heading to the Priory in Little Wymondley for the wedding reception.

Bride Marie shares her thoughts on their relaxed, fun-filled wedding reception at The Priory Barn.

Which were your favourite photos from your wedding day and why do you love them?

"The natural shots of us together, and with our bridal party. They capture the moments really well!"

What were your wedding “must have’s”?

"As much time as possible with our friends and family. For everyone (including us!) to feel relaxed and just enjoy themselves."

Styling your wedding: how did you personalise your big day at The Priory?

"In line with the relaxing / having fun - we wanted good entertainment so hired vintage garden games and added fun "advice cards" and shots to the tables! We made sure there were plenty of drinks and good food, and were lucky to have use of the lovely outside space, and sunny weather!"

Did you have a band or DJ for your evening reception? Did you have a first dance – what song did you choose?

"Yes, we had a live band and then they did a DJ set afterwards for the last hour or so. Our first dance was "You & Me Song" by the Wannadies  - which has always been "our" song. Very simple melody and lyrics but really innocent / romantic."

WHAT THE COUPLE SAY

"Sarah did an amazing job photographing our wedding. She captured so many lovely moments - with lots of natural shots as we really wanted. She was also super professional, friendly and responsive both during our wedding prep and on the day. Thanks Sarah!"
