VINTAGE AUGUST WEDDING AT BUCKINGHAMSHIRE RAILWAY CENTRE
A fun-filled 50's themed wedding with steam trains, ice cream van, colourful bunting, Taskmaster, a jive band... and an epic red wedding dress! This gorgeous summer wedding at Buckinghamshire Railway Centre ticked all the boxes for a fabulously different day.

Hi, I'm Sarah!
I love being able to document the raw emotions and excitement of a wedding day and take pride in delivering stunning images that my couples will cherish for a lifetime.
I create a calm and relaxed atmosphere for my clients, ensuring that they feel at ease and enjoy every moment of their day.
Although I'm based in Hertford, I'm not just a Hertfordshire Wedding Photographer. I can travel all over the UK (and beyond) for your Wedding.

Vibrant Wedding ceremony flanked by vintage trains
Lucy and Colin wanted a vintage theme for their wedding, so what better place to get married than Buckinghamshire Railway centre, between stunning vintage railway carriages. Lucy added red and green bunting and a flower arch to tie her colour theme together and to accentuate that incredible red dress! They encouraged guests to embrace the 1950's theme in their clothing choices and the bridesmaids looked amazing in matching floral tea dresses with petticoats.

Ice creams and steam train rides
After the ceremony, the wedding party headed outside for a Pimm's reception, delicious ice cream from a vintage ice cream van and could also hop on a quick steam train ride!

Confetti and portraits on the railway platform.
Quainton Road platform was a quirky but beautiful backdrop for a photo op and confetti moment.

Entertaining the guests - Taskmaster and Film car
Colin and Lucy incorporated their love for the movies into their day with Funko Pop! characters and their favourite film quotes as centrepieces and table names. They also had a movie carriage, playing 3 of their favourite movies, for those who wanted a quiet moment.

Buckinghamshire Railway Centre has been used as a set in many TV shows, including Channel 4's Taskmaster, so Lucy and Colin incorporated some fun table activities in true Taskmaster style, complete with envelopes sealed with their own personalised wax seal. Tasks included decorating paper fans and having fun with perspective and miniature bath ducks!

Barbecue, cake cutting and speeches
Rather than a formal sit-down meal, guests were treated to a delicious barbecue from Spitting Pig.

The cake was made by two of Lucy's sisters and was covered in handmade red fondant roses, with a couple of fondant Jawas hiding amongst them, to Colin's great delight!

Evening Reception in full swing with Rock 'n' Roll band and epic first dance Jive routine!
The party got underway with a fantastic rock 'n' roll band playing all the classics as guests took to the dancefloor. Colin and Lucy even learnt a show-stopping jive routine for their first dance, meaning a costume change for Lucy, into a 50's style red tea dress and petticoats which looked amazing as she twirled!

WHAT THE COUPLE SAY
"The photos that Sarah from Purple Kite took of our wedding are absolutely glorious. She really made the most of the venue and colour scheme and the red of my dress pops in every photo. I was very grateful to her for coming a little out of her normal area for me, and her candid, largely reportage style meant that we have a beautiful record of the day without our guests feeling dragged through a photoshoot. She sent us sneak peeks the evening of the wedding, which was so lovely as we were feeling a bit sad it was all over. We had the complete online album just a few days after the wedding and her communication was brilliant throughout."
