SPRING MILLING BARN WEDDING

Jordan and Josh's main goal in planning their wedding was to create a day that totally represented them as a

couple, making sure that each moment and detail had meaning and purpose. They planned the

whole day themselves and enjoyed the time spent together planning and preparing for the day.

REAL WEDDING - BRIDE Q&A

Bride Jordan shares her thoughts about their beautiful spring barn wedding at Milling Barn in Hertfordshire.

What made you choose Milling Barn for your wedding?

"We instantly fell in love with Milling Barn, the whole place is stunning and gave the perfect rustic, barn vibe we were looking for as well as accommodating all our requirements in a venue. The staff were friendly and welcoming and made sure all our questions were answered. We knew it was our venue within minutes of viewing it."

How did you choose your dress?

"I’m a very simple woman and have never dreamed of a big expensive bridal gown, I actually spotted my dress on ASOS in the bridal section and later found the same one on vinted for over half the price. The dress was beautiful with lace details around the bust and shoulders and a small train of fabric at the back. I accessorised with some white flower earrings and matching hair vine and some blush pink heeled sandals."
"I felt amazing, I rarely get dressed up and had never had my hair or makeup professionally done before. I didn't know I could look so beautiful and just felt so confident and special."

Which parts stood out for you the most?

"When I walked down the aisle is a moment we will both remember forever, it felt like a total dream and still can't believe it actually happened sometimes. The evening was also so much fun, being able to celebrate and party with all our nearest and dearest in one place was simply amazing."

How did you both feel on the day?

"I think it's hard to pinpoint how we actually felt, it was a huge mix of feelings between overwhelmed, exited, full of joy and just incredibly happy. We both wish we could do it all again just to be able to take it all in."

Who or what made your day extra special?

"My best friend and bridesmaid had helped our 7 year old daughter to write a speech which she so proudly read out in front of everyone after the wedding breakfast, she was amazing and there wasn't a dry eye in the house."

How did you entertain your guests?

"We went simple and just had an evening DJ who put on a fantastic party. The guests loved the DJ who played a great variety of music to suit all tastes and took requests, the dancefloor was full all evening and along with the foam light sticks we provided everyone had a great time."

Your top wedding planning tip:

"My top tip would be to just enjoy it all, have date nights to make planning/DIY fun and spend time together, make sure you just soak it all in and just relax. Nothing is a disaster if it doesn't go to plan, just take it all as it comes and don't forget you only do this once (hopefully) don't put too much pressure on yourself or your partner, no matter what happens, the day will be perfect for you."

What are your favourite photos from the day?

"I have so many favourites, but the ones I can’t stop looking at are the “posed candid” shots of me and my husband, especially the ones taken at sunset, they look so natural and almost as if they were taken off guard even though we were posing for them, they are just such beautiful images."

WHAT THE COUPLE SAY

"Sarah was absolutely amazing from start to finish, from first contact to the actual day to then receiving our final gallery the whole experience was perfect.

The communication before the wedding was great and we felt totally at ease with Sarah. She made sure she knew exactly what we wanted captured on our day and even met us at the venue beforehand to get a feel for the place. On our wedding day Sarah was just amazing, she made everyone feel so comfortable and relaxed and was there capturing all the special moments throughout the day while also blending seamlessly with the guests, nothing was too much to ask and she was just brilliant in every way. Sarah had sent us a selection of sneak peeks as soon as the evening of our wedding which were incredible and we have just received our final gallery back a week after our wedding which we are blown away by, the images are stunning and are such a beautiful way to look back on our day. We are over the moon and can’t wait to share the pictures with all our friends and family!

Thank you again Sarah!"
